This is one of the Quick-Start Photoshop workshops, designed to enhance your understanding of digital image processing in a minimum amout of time.

This workshop covers, through live, real-time demonstrations, how effectively use Adobe Photoshop (or Elements) & Lightroom together to create digital photographs.

You will learn, step by step:

  • How to set up the Photoshop & Lightroom preferences for the way you like to work
  • How to set the color space to get the right colors
  • How to use Lightroom to get your images into your computer.
  • How to use Lightroom to fine tune your exposure, contrast and color.
  • When and how to use Photoshop to further enhance your images.
  • How to use 3rd party plug-in filters in your Lightroom/Photoshop workflow.
  • How to use Lightroom to easily export imaes for email, the web or printing at a lab.
  • How to use Lightroom to print your image to a desktop printer

The class information is for both Mac and Windows and is applicable to Photoshop ( CS Versions), recent versions of Photoshop Elements & Lightroom.

This workshop is part of the Quick-Start version of the Photoshop workshop, designed to get the new or occasional user up and running in a minimum amout of time.

This workshop covers, through live, real-time demonstrations, how to quickly and easily create professional looking photographs of your sculpture or similar items using an inexpensive table top setup.

You will learn:

  • How to set up a seamless background to use as the basis for your photograph.
  • The basics of lighting in order to add a truly dimensional look to your photograph.
  • How to correct the color balance of your photograph so that it will look natural.
  • How to get your digital image from your camera to your computer.
  • The basics of using Photoshop Elements to process your photograph to a form that can be used for print, email and the internet (eBay).
  • How to resize your photograph to meet the specified requirements of galleries and shows.

The computer information presented in the class covers beginner’s levels of Photoshop Elements 6 (Mac) or 7 (Windows) and is applicable for both Macintosh and Windows. The instructions are also applicable to users of the full version of Photoshop.

The included CD contains video tutorials for:

  • How to set up and take a tabletop photograph
  • How to get your images into your computer
  • How to open and process a RAW image
  • How to open and process a jpeg image
  • How to float an image by replacing the background
  • How to resize and save images for print, email and the internet
